Downtown Dog NYC is a group of passionate downtown New Yorkers who love dogs and want to make a positive contribution to the lives of dogs in downtown NYC. Our goal is to help create and promote safe and healthy greenspace for dogs, their families and the community.

If your dog enjoys the off-leash hours we fought so hard to obtain, please consider donating to Downtown Dog NYC. We look forward to working together for the 2021-2022 season! 9 PM - 9 AM
The Woodland lawn in The Battery is open for the season! Dogs may be off-leash from 9 PM - 9 AM ONLY. Dogs should be well trained and have good recall as this area is not fully fenced in. Please pick up after your dog and discourage dogs from digging holes. Hours and allotted space depend on the season and will be updated on our blog. Note that The Battery permits off-leash hours as a courtesy, but NYC Parks Department does not. Join us to advocate for an official rule change! 100s
